[hdu take the window-bed! This is a transgression Shiro can't forgive!
Ok no he's fine with having the other bed, at least there's two beds in here to begin with. Shiro looks about as thrilled as Raven is to have a dude for a roommate too.]
[Well... at least it's a kindred spirit. It could be worse.]
Right, you get it! Normally it'd never happen, but I was lookin' at the names on the rooms and there's definitely a bunch of 'em that are co'ed! What gives!? [Maybe it's precisely because you two are like this that you were put in here.]
[He's been put in a difficult position because he can't protest that he's clearly terribly old and not young at all when this guy is obviously still older than he is.]
Then I feel like I oughta be insulted, it's not like I'd make a move if the lady wasn't interested! [He's a horrible flirt but he still understands boundaries???]
You might know that, but social stigma, that kind of thing. Though I guess there's nothing stopping you from getting to know those ladies and bringing them to bed.
...ah. Just leave a sock on the door or something.
I wouldn't worry too much about that. [He has no game and the likelihood of that happening is slim. In any case. He already knows this guys name from the nameplate, but it's still nice to have a proper introduction, he thinks, so he sits up finally and holds out his hand.]
It's a matter of wording the instructions in a way that they'll understand and follow, most of the time.
Teens, they're like mini-adults with poor impulse control. Talk to 'em like they're adults while subtly guiding them towards better choices, and they'll listen to you.
I've got sons of my own, and they're even about his age. I talked to him like I would talk to them, if I thought one of them was hiding something from me.
Kids like that...they do want to be treated like adults. But they also want reassurance sometimes too.
I spent a fair bit of time babysittin' my boss' kid, but I guess that's the sorta skill ya don't pick up unless they're properly yours, huh? [He's in awe of the dad skills.]
What's this 'properly' stuff? Blood relatives? Because I can tell you right now: blood doesn't make the family. Caring for each other, that's what counts.
But I guess raising those kids as my sons did give me an advantage, yeah. I've had plenty of time to learn how kids act.
Well maybe if yer wearing that it is. [He says, but he's in long sleeves and pants with at least one layer of coat so??? Why is he not also hot. He's trotting happily into the town proper.]
Yeah, gotta be, right? What else'd there be ta do in a place like this?
Yeah? Clem's gonna be happy if they got guns ta take. [He associates guns with Clementine, what can he say.
Anyway, he spots the saloon. He doesn't know the word but as a borderline alcoholic he knows a bar when he sees one.] First things first, though, we gotta drink.
Something like that. Picking off a target at 100 meters can be pretty satisfying.
Though if you want to try that, we need to do it before the drinking. No using guns under the influence. I dunno if we can double-die here, and I'm not eager to find out.
Week 0, Friday
Man, here I was hoping with how many of them there are here that I'd get a beautiful lady as a roommate.

Right back at you, buddy.

Right, you get it! Normally it'd never happen, but I was lookin' at the names on the rooms and there's definitely a bunch of 'em that are co'ed! What gives!?
[Maybe it's precisely because you two are like this that you were put in here.]

Then again, maybe that's why they put us in the same room: so that you don't make any moves.
no subject
Then I feel like I oughta be insulted, it's not like I'd make a move if the lady wasn't interested!
[He's a horrible flirt but he still understands boundaries???]

[Shiro out here respecting people's privacy.]
no subject
I wouldn't worry too much about that.
[He has no game and the likelihood of that happening is slim. In any case. He already knows this guys name from the nameplate, but it's still nice to have a proper introduction, he thinks, so he sits up finally and holds out his hand.]
Name's Raven.
no subject
He smiles and takes that hand, giving it a firm shake.]
Shiro Fujimoto.
no subject
[Genuinely, it's nice to have someone who he doesn't immediately feel like he has to keep an eye on.]
Seems like we're gonna have our work cut out fer us with the number of kids in this group.
no subject
...most of them.
[There are some little bitties here too.]
no subject
[He trusts the younger ones more than the older ones.]
no subject

no subject
Sounds like you've had a lotta experience handling teenagers.
Week 1, sunday
Hiding out in here?
no subject
You make it sound like I've done somethin' wrong when ya say it like that.
[That's not a denial.]
no subject
[His chuckle, though, is a good sign that he's teasing.]
no subject
Ahh, ya caught me, I'm trying ta figure out how to pull off a daring heist of all these snowglobes here.
no subject
[Snicker snicker steal them snowglobes Raven.]
no subject
[Haha. But all jokes aside;]
Hey, can I ask ya something?
no subject
[he is grinning.]
What's on your mind?

I've got sons of my own, and they're even about his age. I talked to him like I would talk to them, if I thought one of them was hiding something from me.
Kids like that...they do want to be treated like adults. But they also want reassurance sometimes too.

[He couldn't have done what Shiro did, he's sure of that. He would have botched it up and made it worse. A situation that delicate...]

[It won't work!!! He's too old and jaded!!!!]
week 3, monday
Yeah!
[A DRINKING BUDDY!!!]
What do ya think it'll be this week? I'm still hopin' fer a beach.
[As he trots towards the door.]
no subject
[Unfortunately for them, it's not a beach. Plenty of sand, but no beach.]
no subject
Well, at least it's warm!
[IT'S THE DESERT IT'S ENTIRELY TOO WARM. But Raven's already outside. What is he, cold blooded or something?]
no subject
[Shiro, in his priest clothes made of wool. He might actually have to wear the cowboy clothes.]
But at least there's probably a bar.
no subject
[He says, but he's in long sleeves and pants with at least one layer of coat so??? Why is he not also hot. He's trotting happily into the town proper.]
Yeah, gotta be, right? What else'd there be ta do in a place like this?
no subject
[He is absolutely going to be collecting a cactus later.]
It looks like there's a gun range here too though. We should check that out later, I might actually be able to get a good weapon.
no subject
[He associates guns with Clementine, what can he say.
Anyway, he spots the saloon. He doesn't know the word but as a borderline alcoholic he knows a bar when he sees one.]
First things first, though, we gotta drink.
[You do not it's like noon, please.]
no subject
[But guns later, drink first.
Luckily there is a saloon, and that means western drinks! They get to drink beer and whiskey this week.]
no subject
[Like even if they get into danger here in this town what's gonna happen? They get killed again?]
no subject
[Maybe a gun is his comfort object, don't judge him.]
no subject
[He won't!! He is going to order a beer, because alcohol is his comfort object.]
no subject
Though if you want to try that, we need to do it before the drinking. No using guns under the influence. I dunno if we can double-die here, and I'm not eager to find out.
for a second I thought that icon was salt bae
[Since his didn't show up here for some reason??? Rudely???]
I dunno about dying, but when I got shot with an arrow last week, it healed up pretty much as soon as we took the arrow out.
haha no it's him waving
[He might be considering testing this.]
I KNOW I'M JUST SAYING!!!
[In any case;]
If I'm honest, I'm kinda glad you're here. I'm no good at handling these kids.
